I sent Amy book one of my science fiction series last year to edit. I asked her to focus mainly on characters, plot, and to make sure everything flowed from one point to another. She took a much shorter time than I thought she would in regards to doing a close reading of the story in order to make her edits.
The commentary she gave me was well organized and laid out everything that was good and that needed work, making it easy to begin making revisions. Most other people who have edited my book either focused on the grammar or their commentary tended to be biased, but with Amy I felt like things that were her opinion were clearly outlined and the more unbiased recommendations were much more abundant. Overall, I feel like the edits helped me to re-think my story and not only do that, but make it better.
